Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.
Normally, I try to separate my reviews, but in the case of these two products I decided it was best to combine them. I tried both separately and then found that using them TOGETHER gave me the best lather and results! The Konjac Facial Sponge is a puff handmade in Japan, made up of 100% pure Konjac vegetable fibers and Bamboo Charcoal minerals it is completely natural and biodegradable. No artificial colors, preservatives, or toxic chemicals are used and not only that… but it’s cruelty and GMO-free. This sponge is great for those of us who are prone to oily skin. The charcoal in the sponge helps draw out the excessive oil and gently cleanses your face. I was a little worried about how rough the sponge would be on my skin after pulling it from the box… but after soaking it, it became super soft and felt gentle against my skin. The Bamboo Charcoal Soap is made up of vegetable oil, water, glycerin and bamboo charcoal. Similarly to the sponge, this soap helps draw our the dirt and oils from your skin that cause acne and make your skin oily. I wasn’t crazy about the scent, but that’s to be expected with a charcoal product. After using both products separately I decided to try them both together. I lathered up the charcoal soap into my hands and scrubbed my face with the lather, then took the sponge, wet it in the shower and used it to thoroughly scrub the soap into my face. My skin felt incredibly smooth and even after spending the majority of the day outside, my face doesn’t feel oily or gross like it normally would! You can find the Konjac Facial Sponge HERE or HERE as well as many other products by the same company. They have several different styles of sponges including a Wild Mint Konjac Puff, a Cherry Blossom Konjac Puff and a Green Tea Konjac Puff.
