I love using pure organic products for skin care, I’ve always thought… why bother with lotions and other creams that have additives and scents you DON’T need when you can use something pure? For years I’ve been a coconut oil momma… I use it for EVERYTHING. It’s even a great cloth diaper safe cream! And people, it works wonders! So, I was pretty excited to have the opportunity to try this shea butter, I’ve read lots of recipes for different homemade soaps and creams, and many of them called for the shea butter. However, being the busy mommy and blogger that I am, I just hadn’t had time to try this particular ingredient or make any homemade soaps or anything yet!
The Shea Butter was shipped very quickly and easily through Amazon, it’s currently on sale for $11.00! That’s a GREAT deal! Beauty by Shea provides pure raw organic Shea Butter that is imported directly from Ghana, you can use Shea Butter for many different purposes including lotion, salve, and as an ingredient in handmade soaps, lotions and conditioners.
This particular package of Shea Butter is 1lb and is double filtered (first in Ghana and then again at a lab in the United State). It’s packaged in heat sealed bags to preserve it’s richness and purity. Shea Butter can naturally nourish your skin with Vitamins A, E, F & K but PLEASE remember that Shea Butter is created from a tree nut, so if you have an allergy please DON’T use this product!
With Shea Butter, a small coin size amount goes a long way. I have been using this as a moisturizer for my ever growing pregnant belly. I, of course, have some pretty significant stretch marks from my past pregnancies, and it seems that each pregnancy my skin gets itchier. This has helped significantly. If you place a small coin size amount in the palm of your hand, the heat of your skin and the friction of rubbing it between your hands will melt the butter so that it’s easy to spread on your skin.
If your package of Shea Butter melts in the mail or it becomes to soft at home, you can place it in the fridge for 30-60 minutes until solid again! Easy peasy! I’m excited to try this as a diaper cream, I have researched and discovered that most organic cloth diaper safe creams contain Shea Butter, so it’ll be neat to see if it works as a diaper cream in it’s true form!
If you’re looking for an all natural, organic lotion… I suggest sticking to something pure like this Shea Butter. And I highly recommend it for you pregnant mommas!
