Ellie Claire 365 Devotional Journals Review

Just like the art journals from Ellie Claire that I reviewed HERE, these year long devotional journals are GORGEOUS!

My favorite of the three is the top one, ‘Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus’. The colors are perfect and I am so excited to dive into this in January.

Every page has a short devotional, a passage to read that coincides with the devotional and a space to journal and take notes.

They all also have that handy elastic closure and a bookmark! Ellie Claire doesn’t miss any details with any of her journals. I plan to give a few of these away as Christmas gifts this year, they are just so beautiful!

This one is a little more simple, I like that the the title is ‘Peace Begins With Me’ and that they made the pages look so relaxing and peaceful as well. So gorgeous!

This third one is just as beautiful, those peacocks are so pretty and you will find smaller images of them throughout the devotional.

You can find all three of these beautiful devotionals on Amazon, it’s easy to shop, just click “Shop Now” on one of the images below (these are affiliate links that I could earn a small percentage from your purchases, all funds earned go directly back into my blog)!

Ellie Claire Art Journals Review

I am so excited to share these gorgeous journals with you! I knew I was going to love them when I received the opportunity to check them out but when I received them, I was blown away! They are so pretty! I’m a sucker for a good journal and I love using them for my bible study time and to jot down my prayers.

I’ve looked through all three and plan to utilize them all, but the one I am currently using is The Illustrated Word : An Illuminated Bible Coloring Journal. I just love this journal, it’s full of these gorgeous coloring pages, plenty of room to journal, and there are even little illustrations from the archives of the Museum of the Bible.

It is truly a beautiful journal. I’ve been using a variety of different markers, pens and colored pencils in my journal and the quality of the paper is superb. No bleeding, nothing smears, it’s perfect!

The second journal is the Illuminate Your Story Journal. Another gorgeous journal. I love that this one has a place to slide a pen on the binding and it has an elastic closure rubber band.

If you like Renaissance style lettering you’ll love this one, there is a brief history on Illuminated Letters at the front of the book and then it gives you instructions and steps on how to create them yourself! How cool is that?! What a fun way to add some art and hand lettering to your journal.

The journaling pages have little quotes here and there, the first one for instance, is from Laura Ingalls Wilder, “As the years pass, I am coming more and more to understand that it is the common, everyday blessings of our common everyday lives for which we should be particularly grateful.”

I also love that there is a keepsake pocket at the very back of the book, as well as a bookmark so that you can easily find your place! The pages on this one is also very durable and my markers don’t bleed through!

The third and last journal I have is the Faith & Lettering Journal – I think I’m most excited about diving into this one soon. I absolutely love the cover and that this one also has the spot on the binding for a pen.

In the first few pages you’ll find an introduction about faith and hand lettering and some tips on how to use this book. Throughout the book are these beautiful hand lettering pages with bible verses – they are seriously beautiful. The picture below is one of my favorites in the whole journal, it’s also one of my favorite verses!

One of my favorite aspects of this particular journal are the pages where you can practice hand lettering. There are verses you can trace and then practice doing on your own. Then there are pages with graphing paper like backgrounds where you can practice basic hand lettering. You’ll also find basic journaling pages and dotted pages to practice your writing even more.

I am also loving the style of binding that all three of these journals have. If you look closely you’ll see that the front and back covers stand out a bit and the binding is a canvas type of material. This allows the books to lay completely flat… and that is so important when you are trying to journal! Don’t you hate when your books don’t lay flat and you have to keep pushing them down as you write?!?

What do you think about these journals? Are you a fan of hand lettering? Which journal is your favorite? Tell me in the comments below! I can’t wait to hear your thoughts! And please keep an eye out for my next Ellie Claire review, I have some devotional journals you will LOVE!

You can purchase these journals on Amazon by clicking the images in this post or I’ve attached links to the titles of the books as well. You’ll find a lot more images of the inside of these journals and the prices are phenomenal! Happy journaling!

The Spirit of God Illustrated Bible Review

I think it’s pretty obvious, if you follow my blog, that I LOVE books. I’m always looking for new books to add to not only mine, but my children’s library as well. This illustrated bible was the perfect addition to our collection, the illustrations are beautiful and my kids love how the stories are told.

The Spirit of God Illustrated Bible brings over 40 of our favorite Bible stories to life with beautiful illustrations by Fernando Juarez. Doris Rikkers is the author and she has done a wonderful job bringing these stories to life. Every page is full of color and adorable depictions of each story.

My kids are thoroughly enjoying reading through this Bible with me, I’ve even been including it with our Bible curriculum for school!

Paradise Praises – Bible Activities Review

I am so excited to share this review with you guys today! One of the things that drives me crazy is searching for extra worksheets to give Boogie for busy work when we are studying something in particular and I need to give her something to do while the littles need my attention. This book completely solves that problem for our Bible studies!

I love love love this book! My only complaint is that it would be easier to make copies of in a spiral bound book or even a loose leaf binder or perhaps a book with easy pull out pages. I’ll probably tear this apart and put it in a binder for easier copying for my kids.

As you can see in the above image, there are a ton of worksheets and coloring pages to choose from! Some are above my children’s levels just yet, but we are already utilizing some of them! For instance, as I will state in my video (hopefully I’ll have that posted tonight), we are learning the books of the Old Testament…. first worksheet in this book is a word search containing the Old Testament books! Boogie LOVED it! It kept her busy while I did some other work with Bubby and Bird. I’m excited to utilize this book some more and I’m even more excited to see if the creator, Katie Hornor, comes out with more books like this!

You can find out more about Katie at ParadisePraises.com or purchase your own copy at Amazon HERE! Be sure to check out Paradise Praises, there are some awesome posts and other resources there for everyone, not just homeschoolers!

ESV Illuminated Bible Review & Giveaway

I’ve always loved coloring and outlining different verses and sections in my bible as I study and listen to sermons. I love that Bible Journaling has become a huge thing and that so many people are artistically coloring, drawing, writing, and adding life and color to their bibles as a way to enhance their bible study and quiet time with the Lord.

I received this amazing Bible to review called the ESV Illumiated Bible – it’s the Art Journaling Edition, and let me just say how GORGEOUS this bible is. It comes in a box sleeve and the cover is a navy cloth with gold lettering. The details just on the cover and spine are beautiful.

This journaling bible contains over 500 hand-lettered illustrations (also in gold ink) by Dana Tanamachi. Tanamachi is a renowned American artist who does lettering, graphic design, and illustrations. You can learn more about Dana and her work HERE. Below you can watch a video on how Dana helped create this gorgeous bible.

I have not been able to do any writing or coloring in my bible just yet (hello crazy fast move back to NC! More on that later!), but I just had to share some of the gorgeous pages that are found in this Illuminated Bible!

You’ll find fully illustrated pages with verses, you’ll find little snippets of hand lettering in the margins, and I love the way they left space on the sides for your own drawings and writing. I can’t wait to start journaling with my bible!
