Easy Magnetic Snap Lock Closure Kids Water Sandals Review

I have had the hardest time finding sandals for Bubby to wear this summer. My little man has wide little feet, so most sandals end up rubbing blisters on his feet or if you buy actual wide sized shoes they end up being TOO wide!

Gold Pigeon sandals are amazing, these shoes fit Bubby’s feet like a glove. They are adjustable (slightly) and super easy to secure with the magnetic snap lock closure pictured below.

Bubby was more excited that his sandals hair “errplanes” (aka airplanes) on them! He was also pretty stoked that these were shoes he could put on himself!

*Easy & Secure Magnetic Snap Lock Closure .

*Fully Adjustable Padded Straps for Perfect Fit and Comfort

*Convertible Heel Strap for Wearing 2 Ways

*Shock Absorbing Mid Sole for Cushioning and Flexibility

*Slip Resistant Out Sole Wet or Dry

*Water Prove with Quick Dry Lining

You can see the entire assortment of sandals at their website HERE, they have sizes and styles for everyone in your family!

We received a free pair of shoes in return for an open and honest review. All statements and opinions are that of MSM.

Out with the Old…. In with the New…

I’m sure you’ve noticed the lack of personal posts in the past year. I’m not going to lie.. blogging has become a chore. I’ve had a lot more products offered up for reviews and giveaways and I guess I felt obligated to do it. That’s going to stop. I have 5 or so reviews due this month, two of those will include giveaways… but after that I’m going to limit those to baby/kid specific items and probably one (maybe two) a month. Beyond that this blog is going back to what it used to be. About our growing family! When Boogie and Bubby were itty bitty like Baby Bird I posted monthly updates on them, and as you can see… Baby Bird has been left in the dust when it comes to those updates. I want to be able to make a book with all of our family posts for our children to have when they grow up… so that has to change!

So what’s to come? Probably a few posts about my boy. Bubby is by far my most challenging child, this little boy of mine has a nice set of lungs on him, it feels like lately all he does is SCREAM. And when I say scream, I mean blood curdling, ear breaking SCREAMS. It’s awful. And honestly, I haven’t a clue as to how I’m supposed to handle that.

There will be posts about home schooling, Boogie is 4, and we will be starting more kindergarten based stuff when the public schools start back in August. Though we won’t be on the same schedule, I wanted to have time between now and then to get my act together in regards to school.

I’m hoping to go back and post some late updates on Baby Bird, she’s growing like a weed! Can you believe she’s almost 5 months old! Yikes! Where did the time go?

So… bear with me as I get back to my old blogging self! Toodles!

Yochi Yochi Portable High Chair/ Child Harness Review

Before we had Bubby, all we had known about taking our children out was that Boogie always stayed with us, she sat in her high chair or regular chair and didn’t stand or jump or try to get away… she was very good out in public. Then we had Bubby and Bubby started walking… and sitting in a high chair. It took a little longer for him to ride in a buggy because normally I just wore him… but he was completely and TOTALLY different than his older sister!

We discovered early on that the buckles in buggies and high chairs would not confine our little man. He stood, he jumped, he turned around backwards, he tried to escape… boys are SO fun!

Now that we have our third precious baby (and she truly is an angel), it’s even more prudent that we find a way to keep our son safe. When I came across the Yochi Yochi Portable High Chair Harness I just knew I had to try it… surely it could help us a little, right?

That picture is what sold me on this product. Yes! That little boy is doing exactly what my Bubby has done SO MANY TIMES in the store. And when you finally get him to sit down, he SCREAMS. It worked ladies and gentleman. that little harness kept my son in the buggy through an entire grocery trip. He didn’t like it, he might have screamed a little for the first 5 minutes, but once everything was said and done, he was SAFE, he was SECURE, and the trip ended on a happy note after all.

Fast forward to today when I tried to take pictures of him in his chair with it on. Yea… that so didn’t happen. I guess it’s one thing to use it in public, at home… no uh.

I’m not sure that you can tell, but both kids pitched a fit. First Asher, then when I asked Elah to help… nope. So, introducing Bear… the bear.

He cooperated very well. I do think this will come in handy for Baby Bird someday as it has for Bubby. I much prefer to use this instead of the grimy, dirty buckles in the restaurant high chairs and store buggies. Sure, I could use a buggy cover… but seriously, who carries those around? We had one with Bubby and Boogie and it NEVER got used because we ALWAYS forgot it. At least here I can wipe down the cart or chair, and then use this instead of the yucky buckles!

As you can see, it fits most chairs, and it can also function as a child harness, or as we call them… a leash. We will not be using ours for this purpose but if you choose to do so… go for it!

Family Update

media (7 of 64)

I thought it might be about time to do a little update, lately all I’ve been posting is reviews and giveaways, but honestly that’s all I have the energy and time for! If you don’t blog… then you probably don’t know how much time it takes to keep one going. I’ll be back in full swing again at some point, but right now I’m focusing mainly on my family and reviewing some products here and there, so keep an eye out for some great giveaways (there’s one live right NOW!)

Baby Bird is 1 month old as of yesterday… how did that happen so quickly? She is so incredibly precious, she’s super laid back, easy going, and she handles the craziness of our household so well. She, just like every other baby, gets fussy now and then (like now… she’s currently wrapped tight to my chest and listening to “Baby Got Colic” while I type), but really… she’s just perfect.

Bubby is his normal, ornery and naughty self. I love that kid, he constantly keeps me on my toes and is the BEST at getting belly laughs out of anyone around him. He’s also, and I say this with SO MUCH affection, kind of a turd. This child already knows how to get on┬áhis big sister’s nerves, and let me tell you… he is a professional. He tortures that poor girl and finds it HILARIOUS, taking her dolls, throwing her toys, pinching her, just being downright naughty. BOYS. Boogie will figure things out eventually, but I’m afraid Bubby may regret these days eventually when he realizes he has TWO sisters to gang up on him! Uh oh! No, really he’s a fantastic little boy and he absolutely lights up my life.

Boogie, my sweet, beautiful Boogie turned 4 last week. I need to post a birthday update for her as well, I’ll probably work on that this weekend. You think Bubby’s birthday update had a ton of pictures… you just wait! Boogie is trying to figure this whole “big girl” thing out, meaning she’s testing boundaries, learning how to cop an attitude (ay yi yi), and is trying to find her way in this world. It’s hard on her and it’s hard on mommy, that’s for sure. I’m trying some new things in the hopes that maybe, just maybe, things will go a little smoother. My hope is that she and I will have a good relationship throughout these many trials and battles… Lord willing. Anyways, Boogie is super excited about trying some new things for school with me, she is smart as a whip and has been asking to learn how to read, so we’re starting that, I’m also creating some workbox drawers for her, and she also received a “big girl” Tag Reader/pen for Christmas and has really enjoyed using that during Bubby’s naptime. I can’t wait to start posting some more home school posts about all of those fun things!

WEB (5 of 6)

J has been at his new job for about a month and 2 weeks now, he’s so much happier and I’m so glad for him. I dislike how far he is from us (almost an hour commute, and it may be an hour or more commute when they place him in his own facility), but hopefully this will be his forever job and will create amazing opportunities for all of us in the future. We’re praying that they place him in his own facility by next month so we can get into a normal routine around here.

As for me, well… I’m just doing the mommy thing, taking care of my babies, my hubby and home. Not much time to do anything else, but honestly I’m good with that right now. The moments when things ARE quiet and I’m not overloaded with chores and tasks to be accomplished, I’ve relished in having a new baby in my arms.

I mentioned in a recent Facebook status on my private profile that I can understand why Michelle Duggar kept having baby after baby after baby… they are pure bliss. I think I finally have J convinced that one more wouldn’t be so bad, I think I’ll feel like our family is complete after that! And I’m secretly (or not so secretly) hoping for another little girl… I’m not so sure I could handle another Bubby, ha!

WEB (4 of 6)

That’s it for now, like I said, things are busy busy around here, but I’ll be around. Look for a (late) birthday update on Boogie and some more reviews/giveaways soon! Until next time, God Bless!

Happy 2nd Birthday Bubby!

Exactly two years ago today I had just finished at my 40 week (+1 day) appointment with my midwife and my contractions started picking up. I didn’t know at the time, but this little boy of mine was going to come into this world like a whirlwind and NEVER EVER slow down!

67 40 weeks

We made it to the hospital around 2-2:30pm, the staff took FOREVER in triage to check my dilation and admit me… I think they were a little shocked when they discovered I was 7cm! Apparently I didn’t “act” like I was in transition… yet.

We got to our room around 3:30 and Bubby was born at 4:07pm, 7 pounds 10 ounces, 19.3 inches long.

This little boy has brought so much joy to our lives… and let me tell you… boys are definitely an adventure!

I have and am still learning patience… because this child has tested it more than his big sister EVER has.

I have discovered that even at the tender age of 2 that boys find potty talk astronomically hilarious.

I’m also realizing that even as close as these two are (they are almost exactly 23 months apart) that they bicker like cats and dogs… who knew a 2 year old could drive his almost 4 year old sister so crazy?

Bumps, bruises, scratches, boo-boo’s, and blood don’t surprise or shock me anymore… and I’m learning to panic a little less.

I’ve learned that those baby blues (which have slowly turned to hazel) melt me… more than they should probably!

The bigger he gets (and the bigger Boogie gets) I find myself cherishing those “I luh you mommy” moments.

I’m cherishing his chubby fingers reaching out to hold my hand, his little chunky feet pitter pattering into my bedroom early in the morning, and his sweet little voice saying, “Daddy… mommy… I want ceweal!”

I catch myself savoring the sweet smell of his skin, no longer baby but still precious… I catch myself nuzzling him when he sleeps, those rare moments when he falls asleep resting against me.

This messy, dirty, silly boy keeps me on my toes, there is never time for rest or relaxation when it comes to him…

He is wild, destructive and ornery.

He is tender hearted and full of the most amazing smiles.

He is all boy… sports, superheroes, big trucks… this kid loves them all.

Days of nursing him are long gone, hours of naps in my arms are long gone, gummy smiles are long gone…

My baby boy is becoming a big boy before my eyes… and he reminds me often… “Mommy! I am a BIG boy!”

I can’t wait to see what the Lord does in this little man’s life, to see what He uses his life for… I have a feeling that whatever it is, it will be a grand adventure.

Bubby, mommy loves you to the moon and back… and back again. As CRAZY as you drive me sometimes, I thank God EVERY. SINGLE. DAY that he allowed me to be your mommy. Every day I am blessed because I’m allowed to witness your silly laughter, smiles, and joy. Daddy, Boogie and I wouldn’t be the same without you, and I’m sure Baby Bird is going to adore having you as her big bubby. “I luh you” sweet boy, happy birthday!
