Babywearing Love

If you are a friend on facebook, then I’m sure you’ve seen the many pictures I have of my Boogie all wrapped up and snug on my chest or even my back! I can’t even begin to express how much of a timesaver babywearing is, and how wonderful it is to have my sweet girl close to my heart. Boogie falls asleep almost instantly when she’s tired, the moment I tie that knot she’s gone! If she’s just grouchy and having a bad day, I can wrap her and she just looks around, grabs a hold of my shirt, sucks on the fabric of my wrap and is completely content. Some family members aren’t comfortable with the fact that I carry Boogie this way, and I’ve had both good and bad comments from strangers… but either way, I, the momma, know that my Boogie is completely content being worn… and here’s my proof:

5 Days

2 Weeks
1.5 Months
You really should spread the fabric across babies back once it’s tied on, I didn’t do so here… but I did in the last pic of this section!
2 Months
3.5 Months
She dropped a little in the wrap on our walk to my parent’s house… the longer you wrap the less often this happens!

And what would a blog entry be without a Flint Monster?

The wrap should be higher on his back, but this was just a quick wrap job on a bigger kid… which I’m so not used too! He was much wigglier and much taller than my Boogie!

So… as you can see, Boogie loves to be worn, and so does Monkey! Now I just have to patiently await my new Gypsy Mama Bali Breeze wrap to come in the mail and for my sweet momma to finish my homemade teal osnaburg wrap! EEK!

Projects

I tackled a few of my projects… one being Boogie’s tutu! I actually finished it a week or so ago! However, next time, remind me NOT to buy glittery tulle. WHY oh WHY did I think that was a good idea?

See this foot? Imagine that… but EVERYWHERE.
And then… she wanted to eat it…
And the face she made when I wouldn’t let her eat it…
So I flipped her on her belly…
I can’t decide what her eyes are doing… are they turning brown? Turning green? Perhaps staying hazel? Either way… they’re beautiful!
Then we went to Nana’s house to get some pictures outside!
But Boogie got tired of glitter…
I had a half-finished pink tutu WITHOUT glitter… so we tried it on…
Hm… tutus apparently aren’t our favorite!
The next day…… I took Boogie to see her godmother and her “man”…
which has NOTHING to do with crafty projects… but Jesse is so handsome, I had to share!

I also (with mom’s help ofcourse… I can’t do anything or get anything done with Boogie! ha!) dyed the fabric for my new wrap….

The color is pretty exact… it was supposed to be a really pretty tropical blue, but since the fabric is made of natural fibers, it turned out the greenish teal color you see in the fabric in the sink. Mom is being kind enough to hem it for me, and I can’t wait to try it out!

I’ve got several projects I’m in the middle of… new leggies for Boogie, fabric cut out (atleast some of it) for nursing pads, new cloth wipes, dresses for Boogie, and then mom is going to make me a new nursing cover… but I think I might try and do some of that and she can help with the parts I’m not so good at, LOL!

That’s really all I wanted to post about it… so I’ll end with my new favorite picture of Boogie and me!

Beautiful Chaos

I’ve been absent for the past week or so… with the exception of a boredom post on Friday… I’ve been on vacation! It was amazing! Some days were stressful, but those are to be expected with a little one in the family, right?! This post may end up a little long, so I will apologize in advance, but I have much to update on!

Before we left on vacation we had to take Boogie to a doctor’s appointment, we didn’t mention it to many people because we wanted to find out exactly what was going on, and what it meant for her. At her last checkup one of her pediatricians mentioned that she had a heart murmur, but she couldn’t tell if it was innocent or not. She recommended that we see a cardiologist to get it checked out to be sure it was OK. So a few weeks ago we took her in for an echocardiogram, and Boogie was a champ! She only fussed a little because of exhaustion, otherwise she was happy and cooing the entire time! They discovered that she has an atrial septal defect, which is essentially a type of hole in her heart that allows blood to flow back and forth into her heart chambers (if you read my friend Christa’s blog, you may have read about her son Tyler having the same defect). According to the cardiologist, it is small, and should heal on it’s own and he has no worries that it won’t. We will take her back when she is two to see if it’s closing. So that’s that, and all is well!

After Boogie’s appointment we headed off for vacation! We took our car and the Flint’s volvo… we had a LOT of stuff to take between the two families (we packed lots of food as well). Miss JoyAnn rode with Boogie and me, and J drove the volvo… we made pretty good time and got settled into the cabin while we waited for the Flints to arrive. Here are a few pictures of our cabin:

This was the tub in our room… wish we could have enjoyed it more, but it was LOUD, and usually by the time we could enjoy it, Boogie was asleep! LOL!
Vanity w/shower and bathroom to the right
Boogie hardly slept in that pack n play, so we stripped off the comforter and all 3 of us slept on the bed w/a sheet. And as you can tell, we went shopping before this picture was taken LOL
Living Room… that’s Boogie and myself in the chair, and Jesse on the couch.
Kitchen… the upstairs that you can see at the top of the picture was where the kid’s room was located. Our room was to the left of the fridge.
Front of the cabin… there were rocking chairs and a porch swing on the front. On the back deck was the grill and a huge hot tub.
Ugh. These stairs. These stairs led downstairs… and they were steep, narrow, and a pain in the butt. The game room was down there, along w/Janelle and Nathan’s room… and the boys slept outside their room. The laundry was also down there… THAT was fun!
I think we all busted our butts on those stairs atleast once, and Nathan busted his butt (and shoulder and side…) on the stairs up to the kids room…. would have been nice to have more details about the stairs of death befor reserving this cabin! BUT, we had fun, injuries and all LOL. We went to the aquarium, to the Chattanooga Choo Choo, putt-putting, the Titanic Museum, Gatlinburg, Knoxville, and bowling… and even took Boogie swimming for the first time (however that trip was not so fun, the kids weren’t allowed to do ANYTHING because of pool rules… ugh). I could go into more detail, but I’d rather share a ton more pictures!
My little chunky man… he’s gonna be a heartbreaker for sure!
Boogie was so good… even despite teething, and being a little gassy! LOL!
Monkey man is such a serious little man… but I got a few pictures of him kind of smiling!
JoyAnn cheesing… she was SOOO excited!
Sweet sweet Jesse boy… he just lights up my life… he is so kind and gentle withBoogie, and he can make her laugh like NO one else!
All the kids, all 6 of them, enjoyed Ripley’s Aquarium!
Me w/Boogie and the 2 smallest Flint Monsters
The long drive to Chattanooga was TOTALLY worth seeing Joseph’s face when he saw the trains!
Boogie slept the entire ride!
There are many more pictures, but I haven’t uploaded them yet… I’m sure I’ll share more soon!

19 Days!!!!!!

Vacation is in 19 days!!!!! Woohoo! Of course, the closer we get to March 31st, the slower time passes… we are going to Pigeon Forge with Janelle, Nathan, and their 5 little monsters! We’ve rented a really nice cabin and have planned to visit the aquarium, the zoo, the Titanic exhibit, and much more! I’m so VERY excited and ready for a week to relax and enjoy just having fun with my little family and some of our dearest friends.

Until tomorrow… I’ll leave you with this verse to ponder 😉

“You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, whose thoughts are fixed on you!” – Isaiah 26:3

Boogie 2 Mommy 0

Ok. So J is back at work, today was his 2nd day back, and Boogie KNOWS something is up. She must miss daddy rocking her to sleep after her middle of the night feeding, because she is bound and determined NOT to sleep. She will NOT sleep in her bassinet. She did great in it the entire time J was on vacation, now she refuses to sleep! So we are back in the recliner, but I’m hoping to transition back to the bassinet after I catch up on my sleep! I only got 2-3 hours yesterday, last night I got a bit more because I went to the recliner earlier in the night. Let’s pray Boogie is just being ornery for a few nights!

Currently, Boogie is asleep in the moby wrap… the only way I could get her to sleep yesterday, and apparently the only way she will sleep today. Goodness!

My munchkin is up to 7.7lbs as of yesterday, according to the Wii Fit. She is growing like a weed! I know I mentioned that yesterday, but I wanted to add that when I weighed her, I also weighed myself… and I’m down 4 more pounds! With that said, I’m not as worried about seeing the number go down, I’m more looking forward to seeing my clothing size go down! I can’t wait to go shopping w/Janelle to get new clothes! EEK! (I love buying clothes… J HATES it, lol!)

Anyways… with the exception of some sleepless nights, we are doing really well. I’ve found that between Boogie, school, and keeping up with the laundry and housework that I don’t have as much time to spend with friends… especially the Flints! I got to visit with them this week, and it was WONDERFUL. I MISS them! I practically lived at their house all of last year, so it’s strange not seeing them almost everyday! We will be booking our cabin SOON for our May vacation with the Flints, and I can’t wait! I’m not looking forward to Boogie being almost 5 months old at that time, or the boys being a year and a half… the older twins being 7, or Joseph turning TEN… ugh. But the vacation is going to be a blast!
