My Mother’s Quilts Devotional Review and Contest

Quilts have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve always had some type of homemade quilt on my bed. My mom is an amazing quilter, I have quilts she made me as a child and now my children have received quilts made by her as well. She creates these beautiful blankets with bright colors and designs, and I love that she hand quilts them, she puts so much love and devotion into her craft.

Because of this love of quilting from my mom, and my love of her beautiful quilts, I was very excited to have the opportunity to review this new devotional by Ramona RichardsMy Mother’s Quilts: Devotions of Love, Legacy, Family and Faith

Richards, an award-winning editor, author, speaker and devotional contributer, took the stories of the family quilts her mother owned and documented them to create this beautiful devotional. This book has short little devotions with bible verses and prayer starters to go along with each story/lesson and gorgeous photos of the quilts that these stories are about. One of my favorite things about this devotional is seeing these beautiful quilts that I’m reading about.

This devotional would be a great gift for the quilter or quilt-lover in your life, you can purchase it HERE for $11! Continue reading to learn about a contest to win a beautiful quilt and more!

Phil Wickham “Children of God” Album Review

I am so excited to be reviewing Phil Wickham’s new album, “Children of God“. I discovered Phil Wickham several years ago and have really enjoyed his music, and this new album is AMAZING! His single from this album is “Your Love Awakens Me” and Wickham sings about love of Jesus and how it is life giving and amazing – and the song is phenomenal. It’s upbeat and my children and I have thoroughly enjoyed listening to this in my van every day!

When I received my CD for review I was also sent a bio for Phil Wickham, it’s a pretty awesome testimonial. Apparently Wickham experienced some throat trouble back in 2014 and after having some tests the doctors discovered a vocal polyp (a lesion on his vocal cord), there were ways to get rid of it but healing would take a while and there wasn’t a guarantee that his voice would return to normal. Through it all, the fear, the uncertainty, he clung to Christ and now he is back with a new sound and a new heart.

You can learn more about Phil Wickham’s new album at his website HERE – you can find his album on iTunes and Amazon now!

Travel Gift Basket Ideas for Mom

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and The Coca-Cola Company. All opinions are mine alone.#BestSummerMemories #CollectiveBias

Traveling during the summer is something most families do, kids are out for school, the weather is warm and who doesn’t love a family road trip?! My mom and I are taking my kids on a road trip to visit some of our family in Ohio, originally we planned to go next month, but with our big move coming up we had to postpone until Fall. Even so, I decided to go ahead and make my mom a travel basket for Mother’s Day. These are great for short trips, long trips, or even to take down to the lake or the beach! And what better way to fill these baskets, then with the new Coca-Cola™ “Share a Coke and a Song” labeled bottles?!

Travel Basket Ideas for Mom

I found the “Share a Coke and a Song” labeled Coca-Cola products at CVS, you can easily find them in the grocery refrigerated section (which is where I purchased mine), or usually CVS also has a small refrigerated section at the front of the store. I love that at CVS you can find all of your travel needs quickly and easily. Check out the Best Summer Ever Deals at your local CVS. Buy 2 20oz bottles of Coca-Cola products for $3!

For this basket, I grabbed two Coca-Cola bottles and two Diet Coke® bottles. For my mom, I filled the remainder of the basket with her favorite chocolates, gum, snacks and some wet wipes for her hands.

For our actual trip, I’ll make a similar basket and add a homemade CD filled with some of our favorite travel music as well! My mom and I both love to listen to music on our road trips. We may not always listen to the same kinds of music, but you better believe that no matter what we are listening to, you’ll find my mom dancing and singing while she’s driving! I can remember driving to and from Ohio on trips as a kid and my mom blaring AC/DC, Shania Twain, and Michael W. Smith…. could those be ANY more different? But that’s what she likes! If you’re a music lover like my mom and myself, be sure to download the Shazaam app (available on most devices, including Apple and Android devices) and download your Coca-Cola Share a Song.

Some other ideas for your travel baskets for mom could be:

  • Gift Cards for restaurants – you have to eat a good meal at some point!
  • Gas Cards – especially with the up and down prices of gas, a little extra gas money can go a long way!
  • GPS – If your mom is anything like my mom, she is NOT good with directions, a GPS would definitely help.
  • Meds – This could include anti-nausea, motion-sickness, pain relievers, etc. Road trips are fun, but sometimes you find yourself with a headache or getting nauseous on curvy roads. This is a MUST in my opinion!
  • Satellite Radio Subscription – this is a great gift for any music lover.

What other items would you include in your travel basket for Mom? And don’t forget to Share a Coke and a Song with your mom!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there, be sure to let them know how much you love them! They are doing the HARDEST job!

I See Me! My Very Own Name – 15th Anniversary Edition Book Review

I’ve done several reviews of the I See Me! Books and I can promise you that I have yet to be disappointed with their books. The quality is incredible and I love that you can have them personalized for your child. I See Me! is celebrating their 15th anniversary of their very first book! My Very Own Name is a super sweet book that helps your child learn to spell their name and recognize the letters of their name. It’s full of beautiful illustrations of animals and nature that share your child’s name and celebrate them at the end of the book.

I See Me! Personalized Book Review

As most of my readers know, I have not and will not disclose my children’s given names on the internet, you know my baby as Bird. Well, I don’t personalize their books with their nicknames so I will not be sharing the inside pages of our personalized book or dedication page. So I will be using stock photos.

One of the things I love about the I See Me! company is that they allow you to include a dedication page in their books. You can add a photo, a short little pre-written message and a birth date for your child. I think that adds a special little touch to your books.

Here you can see that the animals have been spelling out Aiden’s name, the elephant introduces the “E”! You can see the book in it’s entirety HERE.

Then at the end of the book the animals all celebrate the birth of the baby, Aiden. I think the illustrations are so pretty and colorful for this book. It’s one your children will love to read over and over again! Mine sure do! Boogie and Bubby want copies of their own!

Be sure to head over to I See Me! to purchase your child their own copy of the My Very Own Name book, and keep an eye out for the giveaway on my blog this weekend – among all the other amazing products I will have, you will also have the opportunity to win a copy of this book!

Baby Banana Brush Review

Baby Banana Brush Review

This is a product I wish I had discovered sooner. This is the Baby Banana Brush – or technically the one Bird is gnawing on is the Baby Banana Toddler Training Brush. Bird has several teeth and has been getting in some molars and canines this past month, so when I contacted the Baby Banana Brush company they asked me a few questions about Bird to get a better idea of what brushes we would need. They sent me the brush you see in the above picture and the Elefriend Toddler Toothbrush.

The Baby Banana Toddler Training Brush is for toddlers who still need the gentleness of a teething brush but are also old enough to start teeth brushing. This allows Bird to massage those sore gums and practice her teeth brushing skills!

The Elefriend Toddler Toothbrush is a good next step, or really you could introduce this soon after letting your toddler use the Banana brush. This brush has a normal toothbrush bristle end, but the handle is a flexible rubber that makes it a safe way for your toddler to learn to brush. We haven’t pulled this one out of the package yet, so I don’t have any photos of it as of yet.

The other products they carry are the regular and pink Baby Banana Brushes which have handles for your baby to easily grasp and the same soft flexible bristle end to gnaw on, very similar to the toddler training brush. They also have an octopus brush, a shark brush and a corn brush that are all great for little teethers! Baby Banana also carry a tooth gel for brushing, and a hippo grippo (these are used for high chairs to keep your little ones from sliding everywhere – genius!).

If you have a teething baby or a child ready to start brushing regularly, I highly recommend the Baby Banana Brush company! You’ll be seeing this company again in our giveaway tomorrow!
